JB- You play the piano as well, right?
MM- I say I do. I kind of just taught myself over the past two years or so. But I do play a bit.
JB- But we usually see you with a guitar. Is that "your" instrument? Or is the piano Theo (Tam)'s thing? Do you play any other instruments? Did you have any other ideas of what you were going to do in future performances?
MM- I wanted to get a sitar if it was possible. I play drums. I wish I played piano in a song but I'm definitely a guitar guy. Guitar is my instrument for sure.
JB- And I'm sure it is harder to pick up a piano and smash it on the ground.
MM- (laughing) Yeah, just jump on top of it.
JB- And then at least smash your guitar on the piano and you can take care of both in one shot.
MM- (laughing)
JB- Do you consider yourself a rock star? Actually, what is a rock star to you? Define that for me.
MM- Um… (nervous laughter) I don't really know. I think it's… a rock star, or whatever you want to call it, is just someone who… I don't know, I guess… who plays rock music, parties hard and likes doobies… I don't know, that's really immature to say, but that's usually the stereotypical view for it. I don't really consider myself a rock star. I just see myself as any other musician just trying to get his stuff out there.

JB- You mention in your blog that you were getting sick of some people. What did that mean?
MM- (laughing) I was just getting sick of some people that I've been around in close quarters, spending every second of every day with. So that was kind of getting to me a little bit.
JB- Are you talking about contestants?
MM- Um… uh, well, you know, just people that are working on the show and some contestants here and there. We have our little fallouts sometimes but I think that's only natural.
JB- What was it like all the guys living in the house and Amberly being the only female? I talked with her last week and she gave me her views on it. So what was it like for the guys?
MM- I don't know. I think she just became one of the boys, to me. I feel like she was just another one of us for the most part, but she had her girly moments but I think any girl would being surrounded by all these dudes.
JB- After speaking with her we got some calls and e-mails wondering why I didn't ask her about any behind-the-scenes romances. Is there anything to report on in that department? What's the gossip?
MM- Not at the moment. No, nothing exciting.
JB- In a way, you're sort of relieved to be done. How would you describe your feelings today?
MM- I think it's a bit bittersweet. Although I am happy to start playing my own music and stuff. Most of it is sad about leaving the process, that is the show.
JB- Where do you go from here? Did Idol give you any ideas for the pathway to your future career?
MM- I'm meeting with some people. We're just going to have a quick meeting. I think they just want to send me off in the right direction.
JB- And what sort of an album can you see yourself putting together?
MM- Definitely something innovative. You know, rock-soul oriented with some experimental sounds.
JB- Mookie Morris, thanks for joining us today. All the best to you and we'll see you on finale night in September.
MM- Yeah, thank you very much for having me.
He had a smashing good time during his last performance and Mookie Morris talks with JB about his time on Idol.
