JB- You've continued on a little bit with your music career since the show. I know you're featured on a fellow contestant's album in one of the songs. Tell me about that.
KC- I am, well, after the show I said my good friend, Paris, who gave me my nickname. Paris came out with an album, and I did a track on the album - it's an interlude, it's not a full track - it's the interlude of the album it's called "Let Me Rap." She asked me to be a part of it, to do a little rapping and to sing a little bit, too. It was a really fun song and I managed to do that.
JB- You are going to rap for us in just a little bit, but now is that something …I know on Canadian Idol some of the former contestants team up together and talk about either forming a group or working together. With the exception of this, did that happen with any of the others on your season? Was there any talk of, "Hey, Paris, let's team up and let's tour together"?
KC- For me, not so much. I became friends and stayed friends with so many people on the show during my year. I never really collaborated with any of them like that. The closest thing to it was when Paris asked me to be a part of her album, but since then I've done quite a few performances with my fellow Idols out here in California, some at home in New York for me. So I have worked with them, but no talks of tours or anything like that. Well, at least for me.
JB- You've also done some acting?
KC- I've done some acting. Acting is kind of at the forefront of my great big plan of here in Hollywood. I managed to get a lead role in an MGM Studios file called College. It's with Drake Bell and Andrew Caldwell and myself, and it hits theatres on August 29.
JB- No, it wasn't Chicken Little. They've given me the wrong notes. But what is that movie about? What's happening? What's your role? What do you do in it?
KC- College is actually about three high school seniors who visit a nearby college for the weekend as prospective freshmen, anticipate the normal weekend of orientation and the usual stuff, campus tours, and instead mayhem ensues and they get mixed up with some interesting crowds, some frat guys, some wild parties, and mayhem ensues from there. The film is really funny. It's pretty unexpected. It's going to be R-rated. I might as well say that. (laughing) It's going to be a lot of fun.
JB- What gives it the R rating?
KC- The R rating comes from some raunchy stuff and stuff not suitable for the children, let's say.
JB- So what you're suggesting is that Paula Abdul is featured in the movie?
KC- (laughing) I don't know. I didn't see her on set.
JB- She would be under a table... or on it with lampshade... ah, never mind.
KC- (laughing)
