JB- I also hear you're heading back to TV. You're going to be on QVC later this month, is that right?

HS- Yes, that's still in the process, and I hope that works out. Yes, it's for some Idol product, I think. I think I'm allowed to say that.

JB- Well let's make the announcement right here! It's Idol-related material.

HS- Yes, Idol-related product.

JB- Did you want to talk about that?

HS- I've watched QVC here and there, because my mother and my family always had it on, so it'll be interesting to be on there and promoting that product. So I'm excited. I did some spokesmodelling for a boating company and I've never done anything like that. Didn't know anything about these boats, but you know it's fun to get hands-on with something and just learn about it, and I learned so much about these boats. They're amazing. I had no idea there was an industry that big about boating, and it's huge. I had fun doing that, so I'm up for anything even if it's not singing just to be on hands with something, because you learn so much. I'm excited about that, so we'll see what happens.

JB- Would you ever buy a boat?

HS- Um, I don't know. Maybe. I just don't know how to work it. They scare me sometimes, so I'd have to have someone who really knew what they were doing.

JB- What kind would you get then? Do you know some of the brands? Educate me here.

HS- Oh, my gosh. It was a long time ago when I did this. Oh, what's the name of the brand? I can't remember this brand, but I can remember the guy who built them, they're so cool. Damn. I can't remember. They're the fastest boats in America. I can't remember them, I'm sorry. I wish I could, but they're like $350,000. They're ridiculous.

JB- Wow.

HS- I was like, "Whoa," that's a lot for a boat. That's a house.

JB- It is. There you go. You'd be living there.

HS- And it's just like a speedboat. It's beautiful, but so . . .

JB- Do you like water-ski or anything like that?

HS- I tried when I was a kid. I never really got up. I haven't tried here lately. I get kind of nervous when I can't see what's underneath me in the water. Rivers and stuff like that I love, because I can see them. As long as they're clear, I'm good, but the ocean and lakes. I can't see what's underneath me, I'm a little nervous.

JB- So QVC and then also with your performances that you're doing around the country -- wow, you've got a lot happening. Give me two words to describe you're life right now.

HS- Two words that go together? (laughing)

JB- Two words would be good.

HS- Amazing, but everybody uses that word. Gosh. Blessing and rollercoaster that's for sure.

JB- A blessed rollercoaster.

HS- (laughing) That works.

JB- So what advice would you give to people who are trying out for Idol? I know Paula always seems to be the one to sort of comfort and be a little more gentle. Do you think she's right in doing that, or do you think she should be more like Simon? What would you say to someone who would either get shot down for getting through on Idol, or who gets booted off the show? What should they take from that?

HS- Well, definitely the experience is amazing. It's a very long experience, but I guess when you're…I treat it like it's an audition like any other audition, not like "This is going to change my life." Just an audition, and you treat it with respect and like you're going in for an interview. There's a certain way that you want to represent yourself, and that's what you do, and as long as you stay true to who you are, there shouldn't be any regrets on what you did. Stay true to who you are, and if they don't like it, then it's not your time, and your time is coming. It's meant to be when it's meant to be, and I truly believe that. If it's not your time, it shouldn't happen, and it'll happen when it's time.

JB- Obviously, it is your time to be doing this.

HS- I hope so. (laughing)
