2:21 a.m. - The videos have been loaded online and we can finally call it a night. What an exciting day for everybody at CTV and yes, even at SpeakFree!

12:02 a.m. - As most of the media room is emptying out, some newspaper reporters (and JB) continue to file reports. We are working very hard to get as much of the press conference video online as soon as possible.

JUST ANNOUNCED- We will have a transcript of the press conference where we hear from Ben Mulroney, the Canadian Idol judges, Eva Avila, Jaydee and Brian. That's coming up on Monday on SpeakFree Idol Watch.

11:09 p.m. - The press conference is just wrapping up. Find out why Jaydee jumped off the stage.

9:54 p.m. - It's another guy idol. Way to go Brian. He's such a humble guy, thanking "everybody at the Hammer," referring to his hometown of Hamilton. Actually, I have a friend coming into Toronto tonight from Hamilton and he said that the city was a ghost town earlier but now it seems things are picking up. Car horns are honking and the place is going nuts.

9:47 p.m. - Drum roll please! We're just moments away. Bite your knuckles everybody!

How about the duets that the guys did? They looked like they were going to fight when they sang the last song. Yikes. Maybe they're not such great friends! Hopefully they are if they're going to be touring after the season is over.

9:36 p.m. - Most of you support the fact that the idols will tour like they do in the States. But it doesn't seem like many (so far anyway, according to our unscientific poll) that you would check them out in concert. We need to rally behind the idols and get Canadian music heard. On a side note, have a listen to this week's show on Top of The Charts as we are paying tribute to Canuck music with an all-Canadian two-hour special!

9:26 p.m. - We are just 30 minutes away from hearing who this year's winner is. What are your thoughts? Maybe it was stupid for me to ask that because I've been bombarded with your e-mails in the last 10 minutes. Without calculating officially it seems like most of you feel Jaydee is going to win. So the Top 3 are going to be touring. Will you go to see them in concert? Drop me an e-mail and tell me your thoughts.

9:08 p.m. - A special performance for the fans of Idol is coming up. Also we'll be hearing Eva Avila's new single "Fallin' For You" in just moments! Bring back Dave Kerr!!!

8:50 p.m. - So what do we have coming up in the second half of the show? Well, many people have been wanting to see the idols performing once again after the show. What's planned? Stay tuned!

Also, we'll be hearing from Bon Jovi and Eva Avila. Watch for a medley by Brian and Jaydee that many people are interested to hear. Two completely different (but great) sounds. Should be a fine piece of television. That's coming up towards the end of the show.

8:31 p.m. - Yes, the media loves Dave Kerr! We even got glossy photos of him and Ben when we came in today. That's going up right on my office wall! And a shoutout to my colleague Jay Oliver at ClearFM in Winnipeg. Great job in Media Idol! Maybe next year, big guy!

8:23 p.m. - Hot pink but hot, hot, hot no matter how you look at it. Avril kicks butt! "When You're Gone" is my new favourite song. She seems so down to earth (and short!). It's refreshing to see that those hardcore rockers are just regular people too.

8:11 p.m. - What an awesome opening medley! Couldn't have kicked off the show in a better way. Yes, Jake Gold is absolutely right that this year with instruments we've seen a contest like never before.

7:59 p.m. - Quiet on the set! Are you ready for some music? The Canadian Idol finale starts now!

7:43 p.m. - The photographers are just being ushered up to the theatre while the rest of us are taking our seats in the press conference room downstairs. The excitement outside the building, inside the building and all across the country has all of the Idol cast rarin' to go! We're just about 15 minutes to show time. Who's going to win? It's anybody's guess! Fingernails are chewed all the down and lots of sleep has been lost. OK, am I building up the suspense enough? Go grab some popcorn because it's the big event we've been waiting for all summer!

7:16 p.m. - Settled in the media room. Here's what I can tell you about the two-hour show:

Get ready for a medley of Bon Jovi songs to kick off the show. Also, Avril Lavigne will be hitting the stage to sing two songs. We'll also be hearing a lot from the Top 10 tonight. There's a lot happening. What else can I tell you? Not much right now! Stay tuned for more!

7:05 p.m. - Just checked in at the media table and getting set up in basement and preparing the website for the SpeakFree Live Event.
